The Eugene Schermer Instructional building at Grays Harbor College stands as an enduring source of pride for students and the community to inspire passion for discovery and innovation in a place where Art overlaps with Science.
This project is a study in sustainability from the re-purposed building materials to the innovative uses of ground source heat pumps and natural ventilation to moderate the building's temperature. A personal favorite of those who crave natural light is the use of skylights, reflectors, and electronic tinted glass technology to balance the use of natural and artificial light.
