Each individual has demonstrated a unique commitment to their respective projects and to the firm, while also actively engaging our community. Please join us in congratulating the following staff on their well-deserved accomplishments.
Scott Mooney, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, has been promoted to Senior Associate. With a Master of Architecture from University of Oregon and a Bachelor of Arts, Urban Studies: Architecture & Urban Design from Stanford University, Scott brings his passion for sustainable civic- and education-based architecture to every project. He has co-taught design studios at Portland State University and the University of Oregon with a focus on community and civic projects and current serves as a Fellow in Practice at the PSU School of Architecture’s Center for Public Interest Design. Scott joined SRG’s Portland studio in 2014 and has been influential on many recent projects including Jane Sanders Stadium, the Multnomah County Central Courthouse and Portland State University’s 4th & Montgomery Building. He has championed and led SRG’s involvement in many pro-bono, community-based projects, providing various levels of design services for the Kenton Women’s Village, Clackamas Veterans Village, and the non-profit Micro Enterprise Services of Oregon (MESO).
Elias Gardner, Assoc. AIA, LEED AP, has been promoted to Associate. Eli joined SRG’s Seattle studio in 2014 after receiving his Master of Architecture from Rhode Island School of Design and a Bachelor of Arts from Williams College. Respected for his expertise in client relationships and communications, he has focused on waterfronts, riverbeds and the currents of urban conjecture. His SRG portfolio features the Museum of Flight Aviation Pavilion and Federal Way High School, while current work includes the University of Oregon’s Hayward Field, the Colman Dock Passenger Ferry Terminal, and ongoing projects at the Museum of Flight.
Emily Wright, Assoc. IIDA, NCIDQ, has been promoted to Associate. A graduate of the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Interior Architecture, Emily joined SRG’s interiors team in Portland in 2015 and recently achieved her NCIDQ certification. Having worked on many of SRG’s significant projects in downtown Portland, including the OHSU Knight Cancer Research Building, the PSU Karl Miller Center and the PSU 4th & Montgomery Building, Emily is raising the bar in design excellence and elevating our ability to create meaningful places. With expertise in designing inspiring, healthy interior environments and thoughtful workplaces that reflect the goals and needs of clients and user groups, Emily most recently played an integral role in the success of SRG’s new Portland studio.
Marquesa Figueroa, Assoc. AIA, has been promoted to Associate. She moved to Seattle and joined SRG in 2014 after completing her Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Environmental Design at Texas A&M University. As an architectural designer who spans both SRG studios, Marquesa is valued for her strong graphic and conceptual design thinking and is passionate about community involvement—volunteering with the Seattle Architectural Foundation’s youth programs. Her dedication to craft and the fundamental principles of a client’s vision contribute to the design of beautiful, functional and enjoyable spaces. Marquesa’s portfolio includes the LA and NYC Garages, with current work on Hayward Field at the University of Oregon and Intercollegiate Athletics work at the University of Washington.
Tim Thor, Assoc. AIA, LEED AP BD+C, has been promoted to Associate. Tim earned his Bachelor of Architecture from Montana State University and has been with SRG’s Portland studio since 2007. With more than 20 years of professional experience, Tim has successfully served as project coordinator for numerous public projects, actively encouraging involvement among all key stakeholders and carefully managing project communication and documentation. Tim has been involved in numerous SRG healthcare projects and is currently working on the Multnomah County Central Courthouse. His eye for design, attention to detail, and collaborative relationships with clients, contractors and colleagues make him a valuable asset to every project team.
