Laurie Canup Promoted to Principal

July 18, 2018

SRG Partnership is proud to announce the promotion of Laurie Canup, LEED AP BD+C, from Senior Associate to Principal. Laurie’s dedication to collaboration, commitment to mentorship, and passion for raising awareness about the value of great design continue to strengthen SRG’s practice as our industry rapidly evolves.

With 25 years of experience, Laurie is recognized throughout the industry as a forward-thinking leader with expertise in progressive delivery models, building performance and teamwork. Laurie joined SRG in 2015, bringing with her an impressive portfolio of complex research and science work. While at SRG, Laurie had the distinct opportunity to serve OHSU as the core team leader for the design of the Knight Cancer Research Building [KCRB], leveraging another of her passions: Integrated Project Delivery [IPD]. Laurie was instrumental in creating a KCRB team culture based in transparency and trust which established the framework for a successful and dynamic process of team collaboration. This model of IPD helped position the firm to win the design of the 4th & Montgomery Building, an exciting collaboration amongst Portland State University, Oregon Health & Sciences University, Portland Community College and the City of Portland.

Laurie challenges and inspires everyone around her to do their best work. An advocate for women in the design and construction profession, Laurie was named a Woman of Vision by Oregon’s Daily Journal of Commerce in 2017. She remains a strong mentor to young women and men alike and is respected for sharing her knowledge and insights generously with the next generation of our industry’s leaders.

Laurie’s vision for facilitating our IPD processes is rooted in her drive for excellence, where new ideas, innovation and creative solutions are generated in a less hierarchical atmosphere, and where all have a voice. This perspective holds great promise for SRG, and we couldn’t be more proud as Laurie’s reach as a leader and a role model continues to impact the design and construction industry—and will surely make strides far into the future.

"Since joining SRG Laurie has been instrumental to the success of large-scale, transformational projects such as OHSU's Knight Cancer Research Building. Her passion for great design and community impact, along with her commitment to evolving collaborative project delivery models across the industry, have established her position as an inspiring leader and mentor to many. Through her great energy and enthusiasm Laurie champions daily the culture and environment we aspire to at SRG."
